Psycho-educational evaluation
Psycho-educational evaluations provide valuable insight into a student’s strengths and weaknesses and can help identify any underlying conditions that may be impacting their learning or behavior. We help identify specific learning disabilities and other conditions that may be impacting a student's academic progress. Data gathered from psycho-educational evaluations help to determine the most appropriate interventions or accommodations to support the student's success in school.
I provide comprehensive assessments of a student's cognitive, academic, and social-emotional functioning using a range of assessment tools and techniques such as standardized tests, observations, interviews, and review of school records.
Consultation
My consultation services follow a problem-solving approach, in which I work with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to identify and address challenges that students and campuses may be experiencing. I gather data and collaborate with the school team to develop and implement evidence-based interventions and strategies to address the problem. Consultations can be scheduled to determine if students may benefit from a psycho-educational assessment, assess their eligibility for services, develop intervention plans, and support schools in effectively implementing multi-tiered systems of support using data-driven and evidence-based interventions."
Counseling
I offer individual and group counseling based on individual student and campus needs. Individual counseling sessions may focus on helping students develop a range of skills, such as better communication and social skills, coping and resilience strategies, and techniques for managing emotions and resolving conflicts.
Group counseling is intended for groups of 4-6 students with similar needs and goals. Sessions may be designed to help students improve their social skills, resolve conflicts, build positive relationships with their peers, learn coping strategies and manage stress and anxiety. Techniques used in group counseling sessions may include bibliotherapy, role-playing, mindfulness and meditation exercises, and journaling.
